These are thick, one-piece solid wood cutting boards that are reversible with two spacious cutting surfaces. Our minimum 2” board thickness reduces warping, provides a stable cutting surface that doesn’t slide around on the counter, and is comfortable to work on. The board's wide edge allows it to stand stably on end for display for all to see.
Black walnut, with its favorable hardness of 1,010 lbf (Janka), is easy on knife edges yet durable and long-lasting. Natural antibacterial tannins in black walnut work against foodborne pathogens (Salmonella, E. coli), making it a safe choice for premium cutting boards.
Each board is cured with Odies all-natural penetrating oil, which establishes a deep, protective moisture barrier, leaving a buttery-smooth surface. Please note that wood color and grain variations exist within individual wood species.
