Each shelf we make is a single piece of solid black walnut, cut to size from thick slabs we saw and air-dried for 2 years. After 2 years, the wood slabs are kiln-dried, cut to size, routed, and drilled to accommodate their hidden floating-shelf bracket. Shelves are then finished by our skilled finishers using a sprayed catalyzed conversion varnish (CCV) that seals the wood, protects it from scratches and watermarks, and is maintenance-free. Additionally, CCV is permanent; it enhances the wood's color and character while leaving a satin-smooth, 20-sheen finish.
Our 2.25” shelf thickness provides the space needed to fit our heavy-duty floating shelf bracket, hiding it out of sight inside the wood shelf when installed. Our shelves are solid hardwood, and our reliable brackets hold them securely to the wall (max. weight capacity per wood wall stud is 50#). Each shelf comes complete with its bracket, mounting hardware, and installation manual. All our shelves are easy to mount and install within 15 minutes.
