These are actual diagonal crosscuts of a black walnut log - air dried for a year then kiln dried. We remove the bark, fill all cracks and knots with epoxy, then fine sand until all surfaces are smooth. The smooth surface allows for easy clean-up and is more sanitary. BOARD CARE: ZimBOARD Cutting Boards are solid single piece cutting boards and therefore require simple routine maintenance. Boards should be stored on edge allowing for uniform exposure to the surrounding atmosphere and oiled using a food grade mineral oil or cutting board conditioner.
