ZimBOARD Black Walnut “FLAT-TOP” Cutting Board
Our ZimBoard Flat-Top Cutting Board is made of a thick slab of Pennsylvania Black Walnut (face grain) – air dried for 2 years then kiln dried. Flat-Top board thickness is 2” minimum up to 2.5” – the thicker the board the heavier the board the more stable the board. Our Black Walnut is Eastern Pennsylvania character-grade wood that is full of sound tight knots and extraordinary swirling grain patterns – great character and rich color tones making for an amazing presentation and eye-catching décor accent.
The Flat-Top board is reversible with two flat cutting surfaces for cutting up fruits, vegetables or other meal ingredients – it’s our everyday cutting board. Each board has a flat edge for standing on edge against a counter backsplash and routed finger grooves for maneuvering around the kitchen or serving.
Choose modern style flat-edge or single-sided natural live-edge with its organic appeal.
All Zimboards are made of preferred Wild Cherry, Walnut or Sugar Maple – each wood is closed grain and non-porous minimizing liquid absorbing into the wood helping to prevent bacteria contamination. Additionally, Cherry, Walnut and Hard Maple all have an ideal hardness that’s easiest on cutlery edges.
BOARD CARE: ZimBOARD Cutting Boards are solid single piece cutting boards and therefore require simple routine maintenance. Boards should be stored on edge allowing for uniform exposure to the surrounding atmosphere and oiled using a food grade mineral oil or cutting board conditioner.
