Honey Locust: These specific honey locust slabs are unusual with eye catching surface burls and brown color tones. The finished edge of these shelves makes them very unique and popular. Heartwood is a medium to light reddish brown. Wide sapwood is a light yellow, clearly distinguished from the heartwood. Grain is usually straight or slightly irregular, with a medium uneven texture.
Shelves are 2" thick and are often used for mantels. Limited supply of these boards,
Finish: All ZimBoard Floating Shelves are smooth sanded and professionally sprayed with a clear coat catalyzed conversion varnish (CCV) finish leaving a durable natural smooth satin finish.

The Hidden Shelf Bracket is made of ¼” cold rolled steel with welded ¾” mounting posts the shelf slides onto. Pre-drilled fastener holes are drilled on the top of the brackets back plate every 4” allowing cross-over of wall studs – additional holes may drilled. Simple installation includes: selecting install position, locating wall studs (bracket must be fastened to a solid wood wall stud or masonry), drill screw pilot holes, mount bracket, level bracket, then fasten with supplied screws. Bracket must be solidly fasten to at least 2 wall studs.
