Cherry, Walnut and Hard Maple are closed-grain non-porous hardwoods that resist liquid absorbing into the wood fibers and helping to minimize bacteria contamination.
This Cherry Cutting Board is multi-functional yet simple, it’s plain but so beautiful. Black Cherry with its texture and warm reddish-brown heartwood with a hardness of (1450 lbf. Janka Scale) make it easy on knife edges yet tough enough long lasting. BOARD CONSTRUCTION – One-piece Solid Black Cherry cut to a 2” board thickness and sanded to 320 grit, saturated in food-grade mineral oil, finished with 2 applications of Odies Food-Grade Penetrating Oil that protect the wood establishing a deep oil/moisture barrier that helps to stop bacteria contamination.
